Wes Anderson's 2007 film, in which three estranged American brothers reunite a year after their father's death for a train journey across India aboard the Darjeeling Limited, a self-styled spiritual quest that quickly unravels. After being thrown off the train, their wanderings lead them at last to the Himalayan convent where their mother has retreated. The route, dreamlike and only loosely geographic, runs from the deserts of Rajasthan to the foothills of the Himalayas.

   Jodhpur

   Francis, Peter and Jack board the Darjeeling Limited in the deserts of Rajasthan, armed with laminated itineraries and a great deal of unspoken grief.

2. 2
   The Riverside Village

   Cast off the train into the countryside, the brothers come to a river where they try and fail to save a drowning village boy, a loss that finally cracks them open.

3. 3
   The Convent

   Their journey ends high in the Himalayan foothills at the convent where their mother now lives, the reunion she had refused them until now.
