Eric Brevig's 2008 adventure, loosely updated from Jules Verne. The scientist Trevor Anderson, his nephew, and an Icelandic guide descend through a volcano on Snaefellsjokull into a hidden world at the center of the Earth, riding luminous seas and fleeing dinosaurs before an eruption hurls them back to the surface in Italy.

   Boston

   The volcanologist Trevor Anderson and his nephew Sean fly to Iceland to chase a dead brother's last seismic readings.

   Snaefellsjokull

   On the great Icelandic volcano they are trapped in a collapsing mine and fall miles down into the hollow heart of the Earth.

   Stromboli

   After a lost world of luminous seas and dinosaurs, a geyser blasts them up and out through a volcano in southern Italy.
