   Peru

   In a Peruvian jungle temple, Indy snatches a golden idol from a booby-trapped sanctuary, outrunning a giant boulder only to lose the prize to his rival Belloq.

   Marshall College

   Back at Marshall College, Army Intelligence asks Indy to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis, who believe it will make their armies invincible.

   Nepal

   High in Nepal, Indy tracks down Marion Ravenwood and the headpiece to the Staff of Ra, escaping a burning tavern in a shoot-out with Nazi agents.

   Cairo, Egypt

   In Cairo and the buried ruins of Tanis, Indy reads the Map Room, locates the Well of Souls and unearths the Ark, only for the Nazis to seize it.

   The island

   A U-boat carries the Ark to a hidden Aegean island, where the Nazis pry it open, and the wrath within destroys them all as Indy and Marion look away.

   Washington, DC

   The Ark is nailed into a crate and wheeled deep into a vast government warehouse, lost among thousands of identical boxes.
