Bong Joon-ho's 2013 film, adapted from the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige. After a failed attempt to halt global warming freezes the Earth, the last of humanity survives aboard the Snowpiercer, a self-sustaining train that races without stopping on a track circling the entire frozen globe, once a year, forever. Inside, the survivors live rigidly divided by class, the wretched in the tail, the privileged at the engine, until a revolt begins its bloody way forward car by car. This route traces the train's endless circuit of the dead world.

   The Alps

   At the very tail of the train the poor are penned in filth and darkness, and it is here that Curtis begins the uprising that will drive forward through the length of the Snowpiercer.

   The Caucasus

   The track sweeps across the frozen ranges of Asia, the world outside a white and lifeless waste glimpsed through frosted windows.

   The Himalaya

   Over the buried roof of the world the train roars on, the survivors knowing nothing of the seasons but the markers the engine passes each year.

   Siberia

   Across the silent emptiness of Siberia, the revolt grinding forward through prison cars, greenhouses and schoolrooms toward the front.

   The Bering Reach

   Over the frozen strait between the continents, the great bridge that the engine's maker built to span the unspannable.

   The Rocky Mountains

   Across the white wall of the American mountains, the rebels closing on the sacred engine and the truth of who keeps it running.

   The Eastern Plains

   Out across the frozen plains toward the head of the train, where the order of this last little world will finally be confronted.

   And round again to where it began, the endless track closing on itself, the train forever circling a world it can never leave.
