Craig Gillespie · 2016 · sea
Craig Gillespie's 2016 film, based on a true 1952 rescue. When a nor'easter splits an oil tanker in two off Cape Cod, a four-man Coast Guard crew takes a small wooden lifeboat out of Chatham into monstrous seas to reach the sinking stern of the Pendleton. Against the storm and the odds, they cross the deadly bar to bring back thirty-two stranded men in one of the service's greatest small-boat rescues.

- 3Chatham
The harbor the overloaded little boat somehow finds again in the dark and the storm, without compass or radio, bringing home far more men than it was ever meant to carry.
