Journeys from fiction drawn on the real world

James Gray · 2016 · river

James Gray's 2016 film, from David Grann's book. The British explorer Percy Fawcett makes repeated expeditions from England into the uncharted Amazon in the early 1900s, convinced a lost ancient city lies hidden in the jungle. Through disease, hostile rapids and the mockery of his peers, he pushes ever deeper into Mato Grosso - until he and his son vanish forever into the green on their final search for 'Z.'
