Journeys from fiction drawn on the real world

John Curran · 2013 · overland

John Curran's 2013 film, from Robyn Davidson's memoir. In 1977 a young woman sets out to walk seventeen hundred miles alone across the Australian outback, from Alice Springs to the Indian Ocean, with four camels and her dog. Through blistering desert, sacred Aboriginal land and profound solitude - trailed by a National Geographic photographer - she makes an epic solo crossing of the continent's dead heart.
