Ken Kwapis's 2015 film of Bill Bryson's memoir. The writer, played by Robert Redford, attempts to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine with his long-lost, hard-living friend Katz, an ill-prepared and frequently hilarious ramble up the spine of the eastern mountains that neither of them is remotely fit to finish.

   The travel writer Bill Bryson, restless in late middle age, sets out to hike the entire 2,000-mile Appalachian Trail, with only his disastrous old friend Katz for company.
