In the wreckage of grief and self-destruction after her mother's death, an inexperienced Cheryl sets out to hike eleven hundred miles of the Pacific Crest Trail alone, from the Mojave Desert north through the Sierra and Oregon to the Bridge of the Gods, walking herself back to life.
